REPENTANCE

What is repentance? The bible tells us that it is more than sorrow. II Corinthians 7:10 says " For godly sorrow worketh repentance unto salvation not to be repented of: But the sorrow of the world worketh death".

David committed the grievous sins of adultery and murder, but in Psalm 52 He gives us the perfect example of a repentant heart.

Esau sinned and tried to find repentance (Genesis 27:34)  However it was not granted unto him even though he sought it carefully with tears (Hebrews 12:17).

Was God unjust in forgiving David and rejecting Esau?

Not if you look at Genesis 27:42, there you see that Esau was comforting himself with the idea of killing his brother; this showed the true condition of his heart.
So it is with sinners. Some will come to the altar to repent, and will be accepted of God,

While others will cry and weep bitterly saying; "Bless me, even me also, O my father", and will be rejected of God.

For God is sovereign and he says I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

Repentance is the first step in salvation.  There is no way around it.

John began with repentance
(Matthew 3:2)

Jesus began with repentance
(Matthew 4:17)

Peter began with repentance
(Acts 2:38)

Let us begin with repentance
(Luke 24:47)

Prayer Requests

Due to the amount of prayers requested, it is not possible for us to pray individually for every prayer request, and it would be dishonest to imply that we do. So instead we will add your prayer request to our list, which we will take before The Lord God Almighty.

Yes, I wish for you to include me in your prayer list
