PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY

The Bible is not just a theological book that we read only for our spiritual understanding. It is also a very practical book of instructions for daily living.  Many Christians do not understand this and they seek advice from the world on secular matters, instead of seeing if the Bible has any advice to give them.

The Bible is a book of very practical advice in a range of matters. God has plenty to say about your daily activities.  He has plenty to say about sleeping, eating, working, playing, singing, studying, investing and a myriad of other things. Yes we live in a different era, but the principles for daily living are the same.

We have gone from writing on clay tablets to writing in digital tablets, but the principle of writings are basically the same. It does not matter if we go from riding horses, to cars, to spaceships. It is just a matter of transportation by different means. We just do the same things by different means; there really is nothing new under the sun.

Quit going to dear Abby, Suze Orman, or William Safire for advice. First try going to the Bible and see what it has to say regarding your situation or question. Of course the Bible is not going to go into details but it will give you general guiding principles. Once you got the guiding principles or foundation right, it is easier to build upon it.

Who controls your world, you or God?  He has plenty to say about your finances, about your social relationships, about your lifestyle and about your future. His word has much wisdom, you just have to sit down and dig through the Bible and you will find it.

Some may say that I am being legalistic, but before you brand thus, let me ask you a few questions.  Does a slave does what he wants or what his master wants?  Who knows better than Jesus what is best for your life? Is there a better economist than God in this world?  Is there a better family counselor than him?

Let us just take one item an examine it.  Marriage: Do you ask God whom you should marry or even if you should marry?  Do you conduct your marriage in accordance with his principles? He created marriage, who else would know the best way to have a good marriage?

My friends God wants to give us his guidance, and if we'll accept it then we will get what is best for us.  If we reject his guidance in our lives then we are settling for second or third best.  God will never force his will on us, but we have to accept the consequences of our choices.

God says " I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye". (Psalm 32:8)  If you take your eyes of him, then you will not see his guiding eye.  Through prayer and studying you will know how to apply his scriptures to all your daily activities, and your whole life.

Prayer Requests

Due to the amount of prayers requested, it is not possible for us to pray individually for every prayer request, and it would be dishonest to imply that we do. So instead we will add your prayer request to our list, which we will take before The Lord God Almighty.

Yes, I wish for you to include me in your prayer list
