his appendix contains what is the most important message ever, for the salvation of the soul is the most important thing in this life. Jesus well said it “What shall it profit a person to win the whole world and lose their own soul.” Yes, the most important thing is the salvation of your soul, nothing else is as valuable, for your eternal destiny is what really matters. However most people seem to care more about who married who in Hollywood or who won the latest ball game; things that are temporary, for famous people come and go and every year there is a new champion of this or that ball game.
Would you like to spend eternity rejoicing in heaven, a place of wonder and amazing things, full of joy and happiness? Will you be admitted into that a place of everlasting peace where the Lord Jesus Christ reigns or will you be rejected from the presence of the Lord? The Bible clearly tells us that only those who are saved will be there and that there is salvation in no other name, but in the name of Jesus Christ, so we need to know how to apply that name for our eternal salvation.
The New Testament writings clearly teach us in words and in deeds the way to receive the name of Jesus. The scriptures gave us many examples and teachings by the Apostles of Jesus that when a person professed faith in Jesus Christ then that person was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Yes, faith in Christ was followed by baptism in his name. The only way to get the name of Jesus is in baptism, yes when a person truly believes in the Lord Jesus Christ and is baptized in his name; it is then that they put on the Lord Jesus in their body and soul, which is why it is very important for people to understand this issue.
Because our subject deals with and goes contrary to a long accepted traditional religious idea it may cause some people to object or be angry at seeing one of their cherished belief challenged. Of course we expected some people to disagree with our arguments, however quite often the critics and naysayers have zero knowledge of our evidence or arguments, those people have made a decision without even listening to what we have to say, but that is not the way to make a sound decision. For the book of Proverbs 18:13 does tell us to weigh the evidence.
“He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.” (KJV)
“Spouting off before listening to the facts is both shameful and foolish” (NLT)
“He that gives an answer before he hears is a fool, and is brought to shame.” (ABE)
Some people behave like the mindless mobs that often wanted to kill the apostle Paul without knowing his message or giving him a chance to explain the gospel. They rush to make a judgment without knowing or even considering the matter.
Another important issue that I would prefer to address at some later time, but must be addressed immediately is the accusation of “heresy”. For some it is quite easy to dismiss any arguments they disagree with, by the simplistic accusation of that is a “heretical” view, without even bothering to read and evaluate the content of any writings.
However we must understand that what is “Heretical” and what is “Orthodox” (Correct view) has changed with the times and the cultural or religious situation. At one time believing the earth was round was considered a “heresy” and so was the notion of flight, nuclear fission, blood transfusions and many other ideas; but which now are accepted as the correct view. That some religious people will not even consider the views presented here because they consider them “Heretical” does not make it an argument but a prejudgment of views which are different than those that they hold, without even giving an opportunity for considering if the evidence and arguments make valid sense.
Our main argument is that most Christians have been baptized erroneously, and we want to teach the correct way that a Christian has to be baptized. Unfortunately a text in the Bible has been used to teach a baptism that is different than the baptism which the early church practiced and is the correct one. What most people are not aware of is that early in the history of the church such text did not existed, but was created later and inserted into the Bible. This is not a baseless statement, for there is much evidence to prove this and we will show the evidence in this appendix.
Now this appendix was part of The Holy Apostolic New Testament Version v2000 which is a version based on the public domain KJV and is the first part of The Holy Apostolic Bible (HAB) v2000 with the second part; The Old Testament still under development. This appendix was created as an explanation for a change in the Gospel of Matthew in The Holy Apostolic New Testament v2000 which was first published in the Internet in digital plain text format in 2001; then in printed book format in 2013.
The change is in Matthew 28:19 which in this version uses the text “In my name” instead of the traditional text “In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.” This change was done because this ministry research of ancient documents led us to the firm belief that “in my name” was the original ending of the Great Commission. This appendix was created to give a more complete explanation and defense of this important change, and to provide convincing proofs that it is the name of Jesus that belongs in Matthew 28:19.
Some people will disagree with this textual change made in The Holy Apostolic New Testament v2000, and our ministry has already encountered criticism from people who disagree with the premise of The Holy Apostolic New Testament v2K. So we ask all our reasonable and sensible readers to be noble bible studying bereans who listen to all our evidence, before making a judgment on The Holy Apostolic New Testament v2000, then the reader can make up his or her own mind regarding the validity of our evidence and arguments.
